    Job Summary: In the educational system, physical therapists function as related services providers on an interdisciplinary team whose purpose is to provide an appropriate educational program for disabled students, including students with physical, mental, developmental, emotional, social, learning, and/or visual/hearing disabilities
    The physical therapist evaluates students’ needs, develops and implements therapy programs, provides consultative services to school personnel and families, and manages physical therapy programs in accordance with the philosophy, laws, rules, and regulations of their professions as well as that of the school district. The therapist coordinates services with educational goals identified in students’ IEPs.



    Retirement: State of Alaska TRS
    Bargaining Unit: Fairbanks Education Association (FEA)
    Salary: Determined by the FEA Negotiated Agreement
    Contract Length: Minimum of 180 days

    Job Qualifications
    The following are required:

    • Must possess a Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy at the time of employment.
    • Must possess or be eligible to obtain a State of Alaska Type C special services certificate with an applicable endorsement for Physical Therapy.
    • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license, current vehicle insurance, and registration for frequent travel to homes and schools..
