Job description
The Reporting team is currently seeking a Specialist, Audit Practices (grade J) level. This position leads activities relating to Reporting & Data Analysis projects. Projects include the preparation of Audit Committee, Executive Committee, Chief Auditor, Quarterly Business, Senior Risk Management Committee and Regulatory presentations/materials as well as multiple ad-hoc requests for information/presentations. The Audit Practices Senior I will be personally involved in aspects of the day-to-day work and detailed data delivery as well. This is a hands-on position without direct reports and the incumbent should be willing to work on all aspects of reporting from basic data entry through high level analysis and provide backup for other team members.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure analysis/evaluations are thorough and accurate
- Prioritize and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines
- Must be able to adjust to variable work volumes and requests
- Adapt at innovating automated solutions, streamlining data, implementing efficiency and process improvements, and recognizing and analyzing significant trends and fluctuations
- Requires attention to detail and high quality standards
Qualifications:
- 5-7 years' experience within internal audit or related financial services experience
- 4 year degree or equivalent
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word), including advanced features of PowerPoint, e.g., embedded files, complex charts
- Strong analytical skills, report/presentation development, and writing skills are needed
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written; must be comfortable presenting results and recommendations to senior management
- Proven track record regarding ability to build good working relationships and influencing change
- Enthusiastic, self-motivated, effective under pressure and willing to take personal responsibility/accountability
Technical skills favored: scripting languages, query writing, data analytics tools, , and report writer software tools a plus.
BNY Mellon assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $63,000 and $120,000per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNYM total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
