Position Summary

The Specialty Designations Clinical Coordinator provides oversight and coordination of all elements of the assigned Specialty Designation Programs (Stroke, Trauma, Chest Pain, Resuscitation etc.) as directed by Carson Tahoe’s leadership. The specialty Designations Coordinator works in collaboration with the appointed Medical Director of each of the programs with administrative oversight from the System Director of Quality to promote excellence in patient care related to the specialized patient population. Responsibilities include the planning, organizing, implementation, and evaluation of patient care within the specified program, based on organizational initiatives and national standards, as well as compliance with regulatory bodies. This position helps to develop and maintain high quality, evidence-based care through education, collaboration with multidisciplinary stakeholders, and training. This position supports each identified specialty team and maintains a strong component of patient/family advocacy with day to day review and coordination of the various medical and nursing services. The Specialty Designations Clinical Coordinator is expected to collaborate with the appropriate leadership stakeholders and their teams throughout the patient’s continuum of care and across multidisciplinary lines of services to obtain and maintain each specialty designation including but not limited to the Emergency Department, Cardiac Cath Lab, Telemetry, ICU/ and the Cardiac Observation Unit.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Minimum (3) years of clinical experience in a variety of clinical settings where you are routinely exposed to the care of Trauma, Stroke and Chest Pain Patients
  • Current Nevada Nursing License

Preferred certification/education in the following:

  • MSN
  • CEN
  • CCRN
  • SCRN
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS
  • ENPC/TNCC
