Speech Language Pathologist (ESY Program, July 3, 2023 - August 10, 2023; Monday-Thursday; 8:30 a.m - 1:45 p.m.)
Who We Are: The Timothy School is the oldest non-profit approved private school in Pennsylvania devoted exclusively to teaching students with autism. For over 50 years, we have worked to develop an understanding of autism that recognizes the strengths and uniqueness of our children and the specialized methods needed to expand their educational opportunities.
Job Snap Shot: The Speech Language Pathologist provides comprehensive educational, diagnostic, and therapeutic services to students with speech and language defects. The Therapist attempts to enhance the student's academic abilities by using a variety of techniques and/or therapeutic intervention strategies.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required
- Experience working within an autistic support program preferred
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide speech therapy to students during 6 week ESY program
- Develop speech/language lessons for individual/group therapy sessions
- Schedule ESY speech therapy sessions for all students in compliance with IEP requirements. Maintain ongoing therapy notes for each child’s session
- Collect data on designated ESY goals
- Communicate regularly/as needed with parents
- Communicate with the administration as needed regarding issues/concerns impacting on the speech and language department
- Complete assessments/procedures for assistive technology needs if needed
- Maintain student confidentiality in compliance with The Family Rights and Privacy Act.
- Complete additional duties as assigned and attend all required staff & parent meetings
