Role Summary: A vital part of our External and Community Relations team, the Sr. Coordinator will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing events, including our national Walk for Pancreatic Cancer Research series to raise funds and promote community support and awareness. The Sr. Coordinator, External and Community Relations builds strategic alliances across diverse stakeholders. The successful candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and collaborative, with excellent communication skills and a passion for fundraising and community engagement. This position will work collaboratively and cross-functionally within the organization and externally with volunteers and community leaders to achieve the Foundation’s goals. Reporting to the Director of External and Community Relations, the successful candidate will be a highly motivated, flexible, self-starter with a positive, can-do attitude. Specific Functions/Activities Summary:

Qualifications:
1. Provide staff support and leadership to event volunteers and related committees to help secure sponsors and participants.
2. Coordinate work with external and internal audiences, including vendors and donors.
3. Assist in planning, implementing, and producing all fundraising events, including vendor relationships, revenue and expense budgets, and event logistics. Also, assist in activities related to the event program.
4. Work with Communications and Marketing to develop materials related to events, including external communications, printed event materials, and event scripts.
5. Coordinate digital messaging with the Foundation’s digital and marketing team to ensure the quality, accuracy, and timeliness of all communications.
6. Maintain spreadsheets (in Asana) of event details and timelines.
7. Work at special events as assigned, including preparation, set-up, event execution, and tear-down.
8. Manage third-party fundraisers, event silent auctions, and direct day-of-event donations.
9. Work to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward new and existing donors with an emphasis on maximizing revenue through events for the Lustgarten Foundations.
10. Update donor records in contact management system (Virtuous) following all donor interactions.
11. Assist donors and participants with fundraising pages (Classy).
12. Actively recruit, train and work with volunteers and maintain a cooperative atmosphere for everyone.
13. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- 3+ years relevant fundraising experience, with knowledge of fundraising for health and human service entities a plus.
- 3+ years of progressively responsible event planning, logistics, and execution experience, including fundraising events of 400+ attendees
- 1+ years of experience building strategic alliances across diverse stakeholders.
- Periodic weekend and evening work and occasional travel.
Qualifications:
- Ability to take initiative and be hands-on with a strong collaborative and team-enhancing spirit and can work independently, manage projects, and maintain communications with various constituencies.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong project management skills, including a positive problem-solving approach.
- Extensive experience in database and data management (Virtuous, Classy, Asana, and similar other applications).
- Flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to listen and lend an empathetic voice.
