Staff Accountant

Position Summary
The REMADE Institute s Staff Accountant will report to the Finance Director and be responsible for day to day Accounting functions. This position requires a positive attitude
and entrepreneurial spirit; along with the drive to evolve the REMADE Institute to its highest levels of performance.
Primary Responsibilities
- Monitor financial transactions for sponsored projects
- Ensure compliance with sponsor guidelines and organizational policies and procedures
- Comply with all regulatory requirements to include Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (U.S. GAAP)
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial statements, accruals, journal entries, account reconciliations and variance analysis
- Complete other assignments as requested
- Responsibilities include, but are not limited to this list of primary responsibilities
This job is based in the Rochester, NY office.
Required Experience
- Three to Five years general accounting experience in a not-for-profit setting
- Hands on post award grant administration experience
- Knowledge of cost sharing accounting practices
- Knowledge of Federal Uniform Guidance Regulations
- In-depth knowledge of non-profit finance and accounting principles, laws and best practices
- Excellent analytical, organizational, communication skills and attention to detail
- Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software
Educational Experience
- BS in Accounting or Business Administration
