POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for carrying out day to day accounting functions for two of our small resort entities located around the region. He/She is a key team member in making sure that we give the best, most accurate, and timely financial data to our decision makers, to help us in our mission to give people the freedom to ski.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

● Verify and audit daily business reports for tickets, ski school, rental, retail, lodging, and food and beverage. Agree all payment forms to the appropriate backup.

● Prepare and input journal entries and produce daily reports for revenue, payroll estimates, visitor count, room nights, and snow reports.

● Research and respond to credit card chargebacks.

● Cash cage responsibilities include:

○ Provide change orders for all locations on mountain.

○ Prepare weekly bank deposits..

○ Balance vault and prepare bank change order request.

○ Perform periodic audits of cash on hand at various venues on the mountain.

● Perform month end closing of books, including journal entries, account reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts, and research of account balances.

● Assist with Accounts Payable processing, including vendor statement and credit card reconciliations.

● Obtain authorizations and process weekly check runs.

● Train other resort departments on proper policies and procedures.

● Assist in preparation and monitoring of budgets.

● Monitor capital project spend and place assets in service when complete.

● Revenue mapping and troubleshooting for point of sale systems.

● Monthly sales tax calculation and remittance.

● Assist in preparation of monthly financial statements, including variance analysis.

● Other duties and projects as assigned.

Education or Formal Training:

Preferred:

● Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting, business, or a closely related field

Experience:

Required:

● Outdoor enthusiast

● Minimum of two years in an accounting role with a bachelor's degree

● Minimum of four years in an accounting role without a bachelor's degree

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

● Understanding of basic accounting and GAAP principles

● Strong knowledge of Excel

● Comfortable navigating and learning various software programs (Intacct, Siriusware, Looker, Google Suite).

● Problem solving skills and ability to act as a liaison between accounting and operations departments.

● High level attention to detail and willingness to ask questions.

● Strong written and oral communication skills.

● Ability to ski or snowboard a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
