Staff Analyst Trainee I (TA): $46,171 - $48,938 (rep by OSA)
Staff Analyst Trainee II (TA): $49,864 - $55,406 (rep by OSA)
Staff Analyst Trainee I (OA): $50,924 - $53,980 (rep by TWU)
Staff Analyst Trainee II (OA): $55,001 - $61,111 (rep by TWU)
Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will assist with several functions related to Asset Recovery Surplus Material Disposition Programs with the main focus on the web-based surplus inventory Sales program. The various functions to be performed may include, but are not limited to: compiling, analyzing, and reporting sales data; listing set up, tracking & optimization; conducting market research, analysis, and testing to gain insight and shape marketing strategy for various unique surplus items; creating online content; data entry; monitoring and evaluating sales performance; determining sales potential and making recommendations to management; performing fieldwork to assess the condition of assets to be sold; maintaining various databases and reports; handling payments and maintaining sensitive sales-relevant documentation; staying up to date on latest rules and regulations as they relate to the disposition of personal property.
Education and Experience:
1. For Appointment to Salary Step 1:
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college.
2. For Appointment to Salary Step 2:
Completion of 1 year of satisfactory service at Step 1.

- Demonstrate solid judgment with ability to adapt to changing circumstances and think outside the box
- Working knowledge of market research, surveys, and data analytics
- Excellent oral and written communications skills with ability to present information clearly and concisely.
- Must possess strong program management skills, while managing multiple priorities under time pressure.
- Excellent interpersonal skills – interacts well with all levels of staff, management and customers
- Results oriented with high expectations for quality, accuracy, attention to detail and overall excellence.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Bi, Teams) and Adobe applications
- Proficiency with e-mail marketing and e-commerce listing.
- Must possess a valid NYS Driver’s License
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

As an employee of MTA New York City Transit, you may be required to complete an annual financial disclosure statement with the State of New York, if your position earns more than $105,472 (this figure is subject to change) per year or if the position is designated as a policy maker.
