GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
Under the general direction of the Dental Director, the purpose of the position is to coordinate and provide direct dental care and treatment programs including diagnostic, operative, prosthetic, surgical and oral pathologic dentistry in a clinic environment.
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provide full-time dental services during clinic hours.
Refer those patients requiring care who are unable to be treated at the Clinic to another provider.
Coordinate use of Contract Care Services in support of the direct care program.
Participate in overall quality improvement program, including committee functions.
Provide continuing education counseling to dental staff under his supervision.
Provide technical supervision, including performance evaluation of other dentist(s) and clinical staff.
Participate in screening program and data collection as appropriate.
Participate in Community Prevention programs.
Assist Clinical Director in development of Menominee Tribal Dental Program.
Performs related duties as directed.
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Must possess and maintain a Wisconsin Dentist license. Must possess knowledge of the techniques, practices and principles of dentistry and knowledge of current developments in the field of dentistry. Ability to supervise and train a semi-professional and paraprofessional dental staff. Ability to manage the operation of the dental clinic. Ability to operate and maintain dental equipment. Ability to deal tactfully with patients undergoing treatment in stressful situations. Ability to assess program priorities in contracting dental funds. Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with the dental assistant and other clinic personnel. Ability to prepare charts and diagnosis of patients.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Candidates shall be subject to a Caregiver background check.
Candidates selected for hire will be subject to a drug test and employment will be contingent on results of said test.
