The City of Salem is in search of a Concrete Maintenance Supervisor. We are looking for a knowledgeable and skilled candidate who can supervise the day to day operations of the Street Maintenance crews. You will not only impact the success and well-being of your team but also support over 170,000 residents and visitors of City of Salem who utilize our streets daily. You will be supervising and providing oversight of the concrete maintenance programs, including the sidewalk and ADA replacement programs, as well as the replacement of concrete infrastructure that has been impacted by City of Salem Utility crews.
What you will do:
You will outline traffic control plans, perform quality control checks, develop scope of work plans for your teams, and troubleshoot issues as they arise. You will be an integral part of the field design of ADA ramps for the construction crews as well as actively involved in coordinating workflow with the public, and both internal and external work groups. You will also be part of our Snow and Ice operations during winter events, responsible for directing response for the crews on your shift.
Work Schedule
September through April
Monday through Friday, 7:30am – 4:00pm
May through August
Monday through Thursday, 6:00am – 4:30pm

What are the minimum qualifications?
- Must pass the pre-employment background check.
- Depending on area of assignment, may be required to pass a drug test (including marijuana).
- Must have an Oregon driver license and a driving record that meets the City of Salem's driving standards.
- Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field to program assignment and four years of supervisory experience in a related field, or any combination of education, experience and training that demonstrate possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities as listed, and ability to perform the essential job functions.
Preference will be given to candidates who possess, have experience in, or the ability to quickly learn the following. We encourage you to include supporting details in your application.
