This position is designed to onboard new students from point of entry at MCC. The Success Navigator provides proactive, ongoing, individualized support assisting them through the complexities of the College environment. They work as part of a team to connect students to services and resources as necessary and make certain students are on track with their individualized education plan.

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS :

1. Provides ongoing, individualized support designed to help students successfully transition to college, persist and complete their education and career goals.
2. Maintains a systematic approach to ensure contact and communication with assigned students at set touch points in the student cycle.
3. Maintains organized student follow up to ensure students are progressing with their individualized plan.
4. Provides students with specific and accurate information about academic programs and available resources.
5. Assists students individually and in group settings with initial planning, adding, dropping or withdrawing from classes in Student Planning.
6. Assists students in identifying career goals, academic preparedness, skills and talents; promotes student growth and development.
7. Interprets placement and career assessments to provide effective guidance to meet career and educational goals.
8. Works collaboratively with other departments, services, and community resources to understand processes, systems and services to resolve student issues.
9. Works with academic departments to build relationships and stay abreast of current trends and programming.
10. Teaches students to use MCC technology to include: My Way, Self-Services, Canvas, My Hub, Ellucian Go mobile app, Email, One Drive, etc.
11. Maintains student files and case notes electronically.
12. Collaborates with stakeholders to ensure students are on track.
13. Participates in various departmental activities including, but not limited to: staff meetings, orientations, advisory committee meetings, task forces, outreach activities and student events.
14. Other duties as assigned.

1. Knowledge of FERPA, College policies, procedures, academic programs and related services.
2. Knowledge of articulation agreements with various colleges and universities.
3. Proficient knowledge of college-supported software applications and technology to serve students and complete work.

7. Strong interpersonal skills under a variety of circumstances and situations.
8. Strong planning and organization skills with a great attention to detail to manage multiple tasks.

10. Ability to instill excitement and pride in students regarding MCC and chosen career path; portrays positive attitude needed to connect and earn students’ trust.
11. Ability to be adaptable to changing work environment and open to new ideas.
12. Ability to work independently while being part of team environment.
13. Ability to stay abreast of technology and best practices as they evolve.
14. Ability to effectively work and interact with various cultures and ethnicities.

Required Qualification
Bachelor’s degree with three (3) years of full-time time administrative experience in advising/counseling, recruitment, or other related field.

Equivalent combination of education and/or work experience considered.
Preferred Qualifications Physical Demands
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Salary/Hourly Rate $54,330 minimum Department Student Affairs

Location: Fort Omaha Campus ( FOC ) / CASC

Ability to travel between campuses for meetings or staffing coverage.
