Job Title: Summer Help Laborer

Wage: $16.25

Schedule: 40 hours per week up to 12 weeks.

JOB SUMMARY

The Summer Help Laborer will perform a variety of tasks including but not limited to mowing lawns,

grounds keeping, maintaining shrubbery, and assisting Public Works crews with street paving

projects. They will also operate automotive and power equipment including light, moderate, and

heavy equipment. Must be able to exercise independent judgment and make decisions within the

scope of each assignment. The Summer Help Laborer may be assigned specific duties or assigned to

work primarily in a specific division such as street, signage, sewer, or parks.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Valid Driver’s license

• Employment will be dependent upon the completion of a mandatory drug test and

physical.

• Cleaning and preparing work sites

• Loading and unloading materials & equipment

• Building and taking down temporary structures

• Assisting skilled tradespeople in their duties

• Follow instructions from supervisors to perform manual labor tasks (e.g., digging,

stacking up goods)

• Put up warning signs (e.g., signposts, cones) for vehicles and passersby

• Report issues with equipment or unsafe conditions
