This position is Full-time 40hrs/week

Swing shift: (12noon-8:30pm)

Directly oversees the activities of assigned Environmental Services staff to ensure that assigned areas are properly cleaned and maintained in accordance with requisite standards of quality and safety. The Supervisor also assumes responsibility for care of equipment, control of supplies, and counseling of employees.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Directly supervises staff as duties are being performed.
  • Manages employee performance through the use of formal and informal feedback. Completes employee performance reviews. Works with Director and HR business Partner to insure that employee standards of conduct and performance are met.
  • Prepares department schedules. Insures adequate coverage.
  • Prepares daily assignment sheets for housekeepers and project aides and coordinates the completion of special projects.
  • Insures that periodic cleaning is maintained per schedule and in accordance to policy.
  • Completes quality assurance inspections and maintains these reports. Identifies defects and works to correct the defects.
  • Orders department supplies and maintains storage areas as neat and orderly.
  • Insures that equipment is maintained in proper working order.
  • Prepares educational programs specific to the Environmental Services Department. Insures that annual staff education goals are met. These include but are not limited to:
    • Chemical in use – SDS – Employee Right to Know Standards
    • Blood Borne Pathogens
    • Universal Precautions
    • Disinfection and contact times
    • Isolation procedures
    • Customer Service
    • Equipment use
    • Housekeeping Safety
  • Maintains annual staff competencies according to department policy.
  • Conducts daily huddles, monthly meetings and training programs.
  • Manages the completion of daily work orders in Field Point.
  • Is competent in all housekeeping tasks and fills in on assignments when necessary.
  • Trains, Mentors and develops newly hired employees.
  • Assists Director with review and maintenance of department Policies and Procedures.
  • Integrates well within the organization by participating in Health Center activities and committees.
  • Communicates effectively and tactfully with residents/patients recognizing their age, needs, abilities and physical condition.
  • Attends department meetings and all required in-services.
  • Coordinates the daily activities in the Laundry department in the absence of a Laundry Supervisor
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

*Must have previous supervisory experience in the Environmental field, preferably healthcare*
