RESPONSIBILITIES - DIRECT

  • The Supply Chain/Buyer position is a key role within our strategic plan for supply chain management and will be the leader in providing excellence in procurement.
  • Key objectives will be achieving/improving/exceeding targeted customer service levels, managing inventory levels and targets, and managing supply and demand within the Global supply chain.
  • The Supply Chain Manager/Buyer will be entirely responsible for forecasting, purchasing and, procurement of finished goods – from PO to receipt into inspection – including Usage, Updates and New Releases.
  • Maintain strong working relationships and communications with manufacturing and key suppliers to confirm production/shipping schedules and monitor open purchase orders for all orders to ensure on-time deliveries.
  • Proactively report product and material availability issues.
  • Coordinate inventory planning and replenishment of raw materials and components in conjunction with our program management teams.
  • Analyze and manage MRP, Source list, Material master/parameters.
  • Revise essential system planning data to ensure our ERP system is effectively planning future requirements.
  • Support reporting, inventory parameters, reduction and reserve percentage measurements, Product Life Cycle management.
  • Maintain purchase order status and shipment tracking information in our ERP system
  • Supplier Management: RFQ, Cost saving initiatives, Negotiations, Supplier relationship/evaluation.
  • Provide support to Customer Service, Sales team, Product Management with business and product strategy.
  • Establishes Purchasing Policies and ensures compliance, executes same.
  • Verifies purchase requisitions for appropriate approval, assigns expense account numbers.
  • Works closely with receiving to ensure proper supplies arrive and are received.
  • Traces and expedites late deliveries. Maintains delivery performance log for all vendors thru GSS. Reports delivery for vendors under ISO requirements at year’s end.
  • Directly involved, “hands-on” in the documentation and execution of all phases of procurement.
  • Manages Open PO Report, purges short orders and reviews aging orders.
  • Negotiates with vendors for goods and services, negotiating the best possible price/delivery.
  • Works with requests for quotes, RFP’s, contracts, purchase orders, and other documents.
  • Develops new supply sources where vendors are inadequate and have second source.
  • Executes and stores NDA and ISO Form for all vendors and documents GSS before placing a new order. Completes new vendor qualification package.
  • Performs cost analysis and benchmarking with new vendor targets vs. existing standards.
  • Monitors and forecasts upcoming levels of demand.
  • Responsible for achieving zero backorder status with all implants and instruments.
  • Constant monitoring of part usage and must anticipate and reorder parts before critical levels are reached.
  • Address back orders on a daily basis.

QUALIFICATIONS

**MUST HAVES**


  • Bachelor degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics and a minimum of one (1) year Supply Chain (planning & procurement) experience or 5+years of direct experience without degree.
  • Extensive experience working in the orthopedic industry.

Strong knowledge of sourcing and vendor management.
Financial management abilities.
Strong working knowledge of ERP systems
Must possess excellent customer service skills and attention to project detail.
Knowledge of MS Office and Project Management software is required.

  • Direct experience with spinal implant systems
  • Global Shop Sloutions (GSS) ERP system experience preferred
