This role will be a member of our Research Team. Our Survey and Experiments Analyst must have significant experience in the following areas: statistical methods, survey methods, qualitative research methods, and measurement and evaluation techniques.

A successful candidate will have to be a self-starter with a passion for precision while being comfortable with ambiguity in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. You will use your surveying, experimental design, public-opinion polling, and market research experience on behalf of progressive clients and causes. This position reports to the Head of Research. This position is remote, with preference given to candidates in the Eastern time zone of the United States. Given the complex nature of the questions we are working on, the ideal candidate will be relentlessly curious.

How You’ll Contribute:

  • Collect data, administer surveys, implement tests, conduct experiments, and synthesize reports on clients and issues
  • Develop and deploy instruments, research plans, and experimental design in collaboration with colleagues and clients
  • Design, implement and administer tests, experiments, quasi-experimental studies, and qualitative evaluations
  • Analyze the results of surveys and experiments using advanced statistics, and other quantitative and qualitative methods
  • Compellingly communicates evaluations and results via presentations using excellent data visualization skills, writing skills, and oral communication skills
  • Possession of a rigorous approach to experimentation and meticulous attention to detail, with superb qualitative and quantitative analytical skills
  • Possession of excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, including analyzing problems, conducting research, synthesizing disparate data sources, and evaluating insights for decision making
  • Demonstrably curious enough to uncover insights on audience, behavior, or topics
  • Manage a workload with multiple projects/surveys on competing priorities with tight deadlines

You’ll Find Success In This Role By Having:

  • Expertise using Python and/or R for statistical analysis and machine learning
  • MS/MA or 3+ years of equivalent work experience in a field that emphasizes quantitative and qualitative analysis and data-driven reporting. Master's degree students in their final semester of study are welcome to apply.
  • 3+ years of experience in the design, deployment, and analysis of survey instruments, A/B testing, or user research in any of the following arenas: social science, marketing, politics, advocacy, government, consulting, or public service
  • Experienced in applying statistical, quantitative, and qualitative analyses and machine learning to user, survey, or market data
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of survey methodology, psychometrics, quantitative and qualitative analysis
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or SQL
  • Experienced in distilling and presenting results, insights, and findings into strategy memos and presentations
  • Proven high-quality problem-solving mindset with creative thinking, a strategic mindset, and a hands-on attitude
  • In-depth knowledge of the political dynamics of marginalized populations in the U.S.

Key Information

The salary band for this role is $70,000-$95,000 annually, as well as a bonus structure for business development, and will be commensurate with experience. While this is a remote position, preference will be given to candidates located in the East Coast of the United States, especially in the metropolitan areas of Washington, DC or New York City.
