Job Summary


This newly-created role will focus on sustainability progress, review and reporting as we continue to drive positive changes in our industry and embed sustainability across our business. Primary responsibilities include ensuring smooth and accurate reporting of sustainability data, liaising with both cross-functional stakeholders and contributing to continuous improvement in the areas of environmental, sustainability, health and safety reporting. This is a dynamic area in which job tasks and duties will be fluid. This position will report primarily to senior APG EHS leadership with a strong liaison with Finance leadership. This person will need to be self-motivated with a desire to create, drive, track, and publicize sustainability motivated projects across entrepreneurial based companies. We are hoping to have this person based in our corporate office in Atlanta but will be flexible on location with internal candidates.


Job Responsibilities


  • Gather and coordinate environmental, safety, and social data across all of the Oldcastle APG’s operating companies covering 250+ locations in 7 countries
  • Analyze trends and drive opportunities for improvement across the company
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders within APG and participate in collaborative sustainability initiatives across CRH and the industry
  • Seek out and track sustainability metrics/projects at the site and company level while looking for opportunities to use existing data sources
  • Look for opportunities to synergize APG’s sustainability projects with other companies at CRH
  • Collating environmental, safety, and social data for internal and external reports and presentations.
  • Work with the EH&S team in responding to internal and external stakeholder data requests
  • Travel out to the various sites as needed - up to around 25%


Job Requirements


  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, EH&S, Environmental Science or related discipline or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience in a corporate environment - preferably in the areas of sustainability, safety or environmental improvement
  • Strong communication and influencing skills are required
  • MS Excel skills
  • Strong numerical, reporting and data analysis abilities; familiarity with Infor M3 and comfort in dealing with multiple data sources are a plus
  • Ability to understand and then express complex numerical data to the general public and workforce in a way that helps them understand how they can affect the outcomes
