Job description
The ARHS Director of Imaging Services is responsible for the operations of ARHS Imaging departments. Summary of duties: works with area imaging team leaders to ensure provision of quality imaging services across the continuum thorough successful implementation of strategic initiatives, standardization of work to ensure evidence-based practice and quality outcomes, responsible for meeting financial targets and key performance metrics, promotes a positive work environment through clear and robust communication and assisting area imaging team leaders in human resource management. Provides oversight, direction, and assistance to area imaging team leaders. Pro-actively seeks out opportunities for improvement and takes initiative to create change.
The System Director of Imaging Services's decisions and actions with patients and families are determined in an ethical manner practicing compassion and respect for the inherent dignity, worth and unique attributes of each person. Effectively communicates with patients/families, visitors, colleagues, physicians, leadership, and volunteers. All areas of nursing practice and care delivery are monitored to achieve and maintain top decile results and outcomes for patient experience, quality, and patient safety. The System Director of Imaging Services follows and adheres to ARHS policies and procedures, regulatory requirements, and standards of behavior.

The System Director of Imaging Services demonstrates professional conduct, effective communication, and effective delegation of tasks. Performs duties under general supervision. Always assists coworkers, patients, families, and visitors regardless of the patient assignment, so long as the assistance is in-line with their scope.
Compensation is competitive and commensurate on education and experience. This is an exempt position that is benefits eligible after a 60-day waiting period.
Minimum Education
- Graduate of AMA accredited allied health program and ARRT, ARDMS, or CNMT registered.
- Additional modality registry and/or B.S. degree recommended.
- Licensed or eligible for licensure in North Carolina; Master’s degree preferred.
- Five or more years of clinical experience required. Previous experience in leadership of imaging departments is required, preferably in a hospital setting.
- Individual must be ARRT, ARDMS, or CNMT registered.
- Knowledge of imaging and skills in areas of responsibility required. Requires knowledge of multiple modality functions and imaging operations.
- Knowledge, skills, and abilities commensurate with professional registry.
- Working knowledge of PACS and radiology information systems required.
- Working knowledge of CMS, Joint Commission, and ACR regulations and requirements required.
- Organizational and problem-solving skills mandatory.
- Must be adept at data evaluation and utilization in department management. Ability to monitor and modify metrics to drive strategic initiatives.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Must be able to effectively handle stressful situations.
- Must have basic skills for public speaking, organizational management, teaching, problem solving, and human relation skills.
- Computer knowledge is essential; MS office applications. Experience in EMRs is preferred.

- Handles emergencies or crisis situations
- Subject to irregular hours (days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays)
