Ascend Academy of AZ is currently looking for a Teachers Aide. Previous experience working with Special needs desired but not required. We are a boutique learning Academy catering to High Functioning Adults with disabilities. Job duties include: following the daily curriculum set by the Head Teachers. Helping Clients meet their goals and attend to their daily needs. Will also require attendance and supervision for our weekly outings. Driving our Academy van on occasion may be requested.
Special Needs Teachers Aide Job Description
First Aid/ CPR, Article 9, Fingerprint clearance card, back ground check will be required for position. Ascend Academy will provide training if needed.

LOCATION: Ascend Academy of Arizona
REPORTS TO: CEO
TERM: FULL TIME (Most holidays and all weekends off)
HOURS: Monday-Friday 8:15-4:15pm

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Carries to completion in a timely manner, instructional and supportive activities as assigned by the supervising teacher (director or CEO)
Working with individuals with developmental disabilities may include creativity, emotional support, positive energetic attitude, patience.

• Ability to perform several tasks concurrently under varying deadlines
• Ability to exercise tact, good judgment, and initiative in dealing with students, faculty, and the public
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing as well as show patience when communicating with individuals needing communication accommodations
• Demonstrate or develop in a timely manner proficiency in the use of electronics and other equipment in facilities
• Able to identify sensitive information and maintain confidentiality

The individual(s) currently holding this position perform additional duties and additional duties may be assigned. There will be an annual performance evaluation for this position.
