POSITION SUMMARY
If you’re interested in owning the product strategy and direction for a leading organization in fintech, and open banking, this role is for you.
Reporting to FDX’s Director of Product, the Technical Product Manager will drive the product roadmap, product strategy and end to end execution for FDX Products. These products are Cloud native, deployed on Google Cloud Platform. This role requires close interaction with our customers - senior product and technical staff at our members - the top financial institutions and fintechs in US and Canada. The person will oversee the design, delivery, and oversight of the FDX Reference Implementation, the FDX Registry, and Certification Products.
It is a highly visible role with opportunities to speak at conferences, lead product management for products that will shape the industry and provide thought leadership in user permissioned data sharing standards development based on technologies like FIDO, CIBA, OAuth, FAPI, MTLS, DCRP, and more.
An ideal candidate is self-driven, a strategic thinker, an excellent facilitator, a project management ninja with deep customer empathy with an understanding of API development, management, and testing frameworks. Experience with Agile development frameworks and an ability to work with remote engineering teams is required.
BACKGROUND
The Financial Data Exchange (FDX) is the premier and the only forum of its kind globally that brings together all parts of financial industry to promote development and adoption of technical frameworks for permissioned data sharing aka Open Banking, or Open Finance via the FDX API. FDX is currently comprised of 205 financial institutions, fintechs, data aggregators, consumer groups, financial industry groups and service providers who work to further develop, promote, and implement the FDX APIs, the user experience guidelines, the security guidelines, and a certification program. FDX is a subsidiary of FS-ISAC.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the entire product life cycle from strategic planning to tactical execution.
- Conduct customer research via interviews, surveys, and focus groups with our members.
- Execute on the business needs with the engineering team using Agile development processes.
- Write technical documents for the internal developers and external stakeholders to describe, and define the solution, and the associated processes.
- Define, implement and monitor processes for certifying and listing members.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Evaluate feature and project requests, estimate effort, and generate statements of work.
- Collaborate with offshore teams and work across time zones.
POSITION QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE
- Product strategy and execution skills.
- Background in Computer Science with a deep understanding of API design, development and testing.
- Customer facing skills – able to clearly understand and articulate the customer needs.
- Project management – Project Planning, Estimation, Teamwork and Execution – with proven ability to run large multifunctional programs.
- Technical skills with a conceptual understanding of the development languages, systems architecture, cloud platforms and testing frameworks – Java, Vue.js, Springboot, Content Management Systems, HTML, CSS, Databases, Identity services, Test Automation Frameworks, Google Cloud Platform, Apigee.
- Developer productivity tools – Confluence, JIRA, Bitbucket, Slack, OpenAPI Authoring Tools, OpenAPI Code Generation Tools.
- Process skills – Cloud Deployments, Developer Operations, Agile Development Process, Security Best Practices.
- Self-driven, able to work independently in a remote Work-At-Home setting, effectively collaborating over video calls with off-shore teams.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
