Cleveland-Cliffs Steel has immediate opportunities for a Technology Manager at our Rockport Works operation. The Technology Manager will have daily contact with operations, quality, maintenance, production employees, & various engineering & support groups across the plant. This role will be active in all process improvement activities related but not limited to product quality & process control, productivity & efficiency, & overall operating cost improvement while utilizing associated support groups & suppliers as necessary.

Summary of Responsibilities:

• Active process observation & efficiency monitoring
• Data compilation, analysis & presentation
• Develops, analyzes, prepares and executes process trials / work instruction
• Develop & monitor SPC Applications
• Research root cause solutions in relation to department corrective action, continuous improvement & deliberate improvement efforts
• Surface observation, problem solving & defect troubleshooting
• Controls process change requests for process changes in the department as necessary
• Respond & follow-up on corrective action requests issued to the department
• Identify& prioritize areas in the department which require improvement
• Provides technical support & maintains a close & effective working relationship with operations, quality, maintenance, research, engineering, and service & support groups
• Attends various conferences, seminars and information gathering visits at alternate sites
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• Demonstrated problem-solving skills
• Strong report writing and verbal communication skills
• Strong work ethic/highly motivated
• Excellent computer skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and/or technical degree

Preferred Qualifications:

• Technical experience in an industrial or heavy manufacturing environment, preferably steel.
