Transportation Manager
Job description
This job is a civilian position and does not require military service (including commission and enlistment)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Supervisory Branch Head position responsible for overall planning and scheduling of Transportation operation and maintenance matters
· Oversees the weight handling equipment program responsible for maintenance, inspection, testing and certification of WHE including, but not limited to mobile and bridge/jib cranes.
· Ensure compliance with crane operations directives and manages the operations and maintenance of all cranes to assure overall safety of crane operations and use. Reviews crane safety and maintenance audits provide response paperwork identifying how deficiencies will be resolved.
· Manage and maintain to include preventive and corrective maintenance, a fleet of owned and leased vehicles and over 300 pieces of civil engineering, material, and weight handling equipment.
· Plan, schedule and ensure completion of work assignments according to schedules and priorities.
· Take corrective action to overcome delays caused by funding problems, equipment breakage or non-availability, and the shortage of personnel, and ensuring that limited resources available are used to the maximum extent to accomplish assigned work within schedules and timeframes.
Must Have Experience in:
- Knowledgeable of federal and state standards and instructions that pertain to the management of Weight Handling equipment.
- Experience with technical methods, procedures and practices applicable to the management, operation, maintenance and repair of construction, material, and weight handling equipment.
- Thorough familiarity with WHE program including cranes, crane operations and proper rigging practices and procedures.

Requirements for all NAVFAC Positions:
- A US Citizen aged 18 or older at time of hire
