Position Summary:
Charter Oak State College is seeking a Technical Support Assistant/University Assistant to staff its help desk. The help desk is based in the College’s Alumni Rd building in Newington Connecticut, walking distance from the CCSU campus. Prospective candidates should have a positive attitude, good people skills, and be willing to work in a team-based environment.
The primary responsibility of our help desk technicians is to provide technical support to our end-user community. Current Charter Oak Support staff will provide appropriate training to help desk technicians. However basic browser, hardware, and software knowledge is helpful.

Incumbents must possess proven ability to effectively work with a culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse faculty, staff, and student. They are expected to have excellent oral and written communication skills along with strong Information technology literacy skills such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams etc.)
Example of Job Duties:
Under the direction of Charter Oak Support Staff, the University Assistant is accountable for effective performance in these essential areas:
- Troubleshooting student/faculty/staff technical support issues via email, telephone, web-based correspondence, as well as in-person
- Logging/updating tech support cases in our online ticketing system
- Analyzing and researching frequently reported issues
- Maintaining Technical Support knowledgebase content
- Perform IT maintenance tasks as needed
Starting Salary:
$17.00 hourly.

Selection Procedure:
