Veterinary Technician - Flexible Schedule

About Us:

Our team is led by Dr Sandra Miller, a graduate of UW School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr Miller’s passion is nutrition, and truly believes that is where all healing begins.

About You:

You're a Vet Tech w/ a great attitude, love of wellness-based care and 2 years of experience as a tech.

Below are some responsibilities of the position (and may vary based on your training / certification):

• Assists veterinarians in examining and monitoring animal patients, including holding and restraining animals during exams and administering medications.
• Gives injections and administers oral medications in accordance with clinic policy.
• Performs emergency procedures such as control of bleeding, opening airways, and first aid.
• Performs clinical laboratory procedures such as fecal flotation exams, heartworm checks, skin scrapings, urinalysis, and fungal cultures.
• Assists with laser treatments, fluid treatments, nail trims, ear cleanings, etc
• Draws blood for laboratory analysis; maintains file of lab test results and ensures that test results are recorded in patient records.
• Run Idexx machine
• Assist Dr Miller in surgery and with taking x-rays
• Maintains clean and sanitary conditions in waiting areas and exam rooms, ensuring exam rooms surface area are sanitized.
• Ensures exam rooms and waiting areas are well stocked.
• Cleans and sterilizes instruments, equipment, and tools.

Requirements:

• 1+ years of experience preferred
• Willing to work (3) 10 hour shifts, but we are flexible!
• Vet Tech Certification (if required)
• Passion for providing care to animals while being professional and courteous to clients and teammates.
• Must be certified to administer anesthesia
• Ability to restrain larger pets, when necessary.

Compensation:

Starting at $15hr (Based on experience)

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift
• 8 hour shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Burlington, WI 53105: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
