About This Role:
The Veterinary Health Center (VHC) within the College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking applicants for a Veterinary Nurse II position that is responsible for providing technical nursing services to the Large Animal Barn Section. Primary purpose is to coordinate technical services required for providing quality veterinary care to client, teaching and research patients presented to the Large Animal Barn for treatment. This position is also responsible for monitoring veterinary students and entering information into the electronic medical records system. Stocking and cleanliness of the equine therio truck. Lastly, this position is responsible for coordination of animal treatments, instruct, train and supervise students and employees in approved treatment technique(s).

What You'll Need to Succeed: Minimum Qualifications:
Completion of a two year college program in veterinary and animal technology accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association and two years of relevant experience.
Must be registered as a licensed veterinary nurse under the authority of Kansas Board of Veterinary Medical Examiner within six months of appointment.

Preferred Qualifications:
One year post-graduate experience in veterinary equine and large animal procedures
Clinical teaching and/or supervisory experience will be considered a beneficial asset for this position
Excellent communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
Experience with veterinary hospital management programs, electronic medical records system.

Other Requirements:
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment.
