Technician’s assistants are responsible for animal care and hospital maintenance duties under the supervision of the veterinarian, veterinary technician/assistant, or shift leader on duty. Success in this role requires completion of the provided training task list within 90 days of hire, effective communication with the team, and upholding Vets Pet's core values of compassion, integrity, courage, passion, and commitment.
Responsibilities:
- Housekeeping duties including cleaning cages, sweeping and mopping floors, running laundry, organizing and stocking supplies, maintaining cleanliness and sanitization of workspaces
- Animal restraint
- Performing laboratory work
- filling prescriptions
- Administering and monitoring treatments at the request and under the supervision of the doctor or veterinary technician/assistant
- Assisting with diagnostic imaging
- Feeding, watering, and walking hospitalized patients
- Performing other duties, as needed, to create a smooth patient flow in the hospital.
Requirements:
A positive attitude and a strong commitment to the team. A desire to learn new skills and participate in regular training modules and staff meetings.
