About us
Brushy Creek Veterinary Clinic is a privately owned small animal clinic located in the continually growing area of North Austin/Round Rock. We are a family oriented practice, with an incredibly tenured staff. We have been serving our clients for over 40 years and have experienced steady growth each year. Our clientele is loyal & supportive in caring for their pets.
Due to our growth, we are looking to expand our small but mighty team! We currently have 3 doctors, 2 receptionists, and 4 technicians on staff. We are looking to invite in a team player - an individual with initiative, hard work ethic, and of course a passion for the love and care of our furry companions.
Previous experience as a veterinary technician or technician assistant is required, but we are also willing to train & expand on your knowledge basis. Clinic Features:
- In-house Procyte & Catalyst
- In-house Diagnostics: Urinalyses, cytology, serology, & fecal flotation
- Dental Suite & Dental Radiography
- Digital Radiography & Ultrasound
- Soft Tissue Surgery Suite
- Avimark Software (with exam room accessibility)
Clinic Hours:
- Monday - Friday, 8:00a-6:00p
- 1-2 hour lunch break, 12:00p-2:00p
- Saturday 8:00a-12:00p
This position includes but is not limited to the following areas of expertise:
- Proficiency in animal care, handling, & restraint
- Obtain and record patient histories, vital signs, and weights
- Perform in-hospital lab testing and prepare specimens for reference labs
- Dispense and administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians
- Administer fluids as prescribed by the veterinarian; use and maintain IV pump
- Administer and monitor anesthesia under the direction of a veterinarian
- Provide specialized nursing care for injured or ill animals
- Prepare patients, instruments and equipment for surgery; clean, maintain and sterilize instruments, equipment, and materials
- Usage & maintenance of monitoring equipment such as anesthetic machines, vital statistic monitors, and breathing apparatuses
- Communicate with and educate owners in a compassionate, tactful, & professional manner
- Take radiographs – demonstrates proper positioning techniques
- Maintain knowledge of preventative healthcare recommendations
- Educate clients on products and medications recommended by the veterinarian
- Work well with all team members and ensure that your actions support the hospital, the doctors, and the practice philosophy
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Internship
Pay: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour
