Veterinary Technician/Veterinary Assistant

Savannah Animal Hospital is a companion animal care practice located just minutes from the beach in historic Lewes, DE. We are currently seeking Veterinary Technicians to join our team.

In this hands-on role, veterinary technicians assist the medical staff with various treatments to include but not limited to animal restraint, x-rays, ultrasounds, blood draws, medication administration, laboratory tests, client communication, and medical records notation. Other hospital wide duties include laundry, dishes, kennel upkeep/sanitation, walking, bathing, and feeding our hospitalized patients.

Position offers the opportunity to learn and build technician skills in a well-established veterinary hospital. Current students in a Veterinary Technology program welcome to apply.

Work Experience:

· One year of technician or animal care experience in a veterinary hospital, kennel, or other similar setting where medical procedures are performed.

· Four 10 - hour shifts with rotating Saturdays. The practice is closed on Sundays.

Skills:

· Enjoy working in a fast - paced environment where conditions change quickly.

· Must be able to lift 40 lbs.

· Standing, bending, and kneeling for extended periods will be frequent.

· Comfortable working with all types of dogs and cats including those injured/sick, frightened, or aggressive.
