Summary:
Walker & Dunlop is seeking a Vice President/Managing Director, preferably in its New York City office to work directly with the founding members of Zelman & Associates, the leading housing-related research firm on Wall Street. This position will utilize the strengths of both Walker & Dunlop and Zelman to expand existing multi-family and single-family rental research and significantly broaden the insights available to market participants.
What you will be doing:
  • Expand upon Zelman’s deep macro housing and industry experience to enhance existing and develop new insightful rental sector research
  • Coverage of apartment and single-family REITs
  • Implement business strategies to provide internal and external clients with strategic, research-driven insights and valuable data & analytics capabilities
  • Interpret/use housing research to identify trends with a broader macro impact both within and outside CRE
  • Work closely with key professionals in Marketing, IT, debt, and investment sales brokerage to broaden Walker & Dunlop’s and Zelman’s reputation in rental market research
  • Integrate rental sector research with other housing-related franchises
  • Conduct extensive proprietary surveys; synthesize and interpret results
  • Create detailed, sophisticated financial models and valuation analyses
  • Identify significant trends; anticipate, analyze, and communicate industry developments
  • Develop and lead team responsible for timely, comprehensive, thought-provoking research reports
  • Lead external communication of research conclusions with top industry executives and clients
The education and experience we’re looking for:
  • Bachelor’s degree; preference for concentration in finance, economics, or accounting
  • 5+ years of work experience in real estate-related research capabilities is strongly preferred

This position has an estimated base salary of $100,000.00 - $250,000.00.
