We are searching for an enthusiastic, and dedicated Vice President of Clinical Operations. The Vice President (VP) of Clinical Operations will lead clinical operations for BrightStar Owned. The VP, Clinical Operations provides direct oversight and management of clinical operations and supports site DONs. The VP, Clinical Operations will support BrightStar’s clinical strategy and commitment to providing a higher standard of care for all company owned locations. The VP, Clinical Operations works collaboratively to direct nursing services, while working with other corporate leaders and departments to establish and maintain effective clinical and compliance programs. The VP, Clinical Operations will have opportunities to teach, coach and mentor nursing leaders to implement the best practices, which ensure quality clinical services and safety.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implements appropriate nursing clinical programs and initiatives to achieve desired outcomes.
- In coordination with SR. Director of Excellence & Standards, responsible for conducting location clinical assessments to ensure compliance with state regulations, Nurse Practice Act, Joint Commission, and BrightStar standards.
- Utilizes a combination of company resources and nationally recognized standards of practice to ensure company stores deliver high quality care and achieve excellent patient specific outcomes.
- Partners with BrightStar Franchise Support Center Clinical Leadership to align processes and procedures, when appropriate, within the BSO organization.
- Support branch leadership in hiring, onboarding, and on-going development of highly skilled DON’s.
- Responsible for clinical onboarding of DONs and other clinical team members.
- Ensure DON’s are providing the highest quality of nurse oversight for all field staff team members.
- Provides support and maintains ongoing communication with site DONs regarding clinical operations.
- Acts as the clinical lead for all company store acquisitions.
- Remains knowledgeable of organization’s quality improvement programs, participates in agency performance improvement initiatives and incorporates into patient care planning as appropriate.
- Demonstrates competency in skills for required patient care. Initiates, plans and provides staff education, and performs competency and skills validation for care team staff, such as LPN’s, HHA’s and RN visit staff.
- Stays informed of industry knowledge and nursing best practice standards.
- Participates in clinical development and continuing education programs and provides same to clinical team members in BSO locations.
- Serves as BSO’s liaison between branch locations and FSC Clinical Team and Joint Commission while being the BSO Joint Commission lead.
- Performs other duties, as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
- Bachelor's degree
LICENSE (S)
- Active unencumbered R.N. license in at least one state
SKILLS/ABILITIES
- RN with clinical leadership experience in both in-home personal care (i.e., non-skilled), as well as skilled nursing (e.g., infusion, wound care); pediatrics experience is a plus.
- Experience in home health care providing skilled services.
- At least 7 years’ experience in a clinical leadership role; specifically leading a team of DONs and nurses, preferably in home health care
- Hands on experience implementing or using a leading EMR
- Knowledge and experience with accreditation standards (Joint Commission and state-specific, as well as experience with quality improvement programs and clinical auditing is preferred.
- Ability to work independently, lead multiple programs, and obtain results
- Skilled in critical and methodical thinking

WORKING CONDITIONS
- This role is a remote role.
- Travel requirement: 50%, this may increase or decrease as needed to support the successful operation of the business.
