Position Description:
Provides executive leadership and supervision of instructional programs conducted at multiple sites and via different delivery systems. Responsible for long-range planning, budget development, institutional research and outcomes assessment, program review and evaluation, and grant development. Coordinates the implementation of college policy and procedures, staff professional development, and special projects as directed.

Position Responsibilities:

- Leads and manages all credit instructional operations in a manner that maximizes student learning, program completion, and preparation of graduates for employment and further education.
- Serves on the Management negotiating teams and maintains a working relationship with faculty union officials and adheres to terms of labor contracts. Participates in mutual gains bargaining to resolve grievances.
- Leads and manages instructional support programs of the Learning Resource/Media Center and the Learning Technology Department.
- Supervise the Oscoda Campus and its operations.
- Directs credit institutional and instructional support planning and budgeting processes. Serves as the Co-Chairperson of the Strategic Planning and Budgeting Committee.
- Directs institutional research, evaluation, and continuous improvement within areas of responsibility in coordination with other units of the college, with emphasis on assessment of learning.
- Supervises registration and the keeping of appropriate student records through the office of the Registrar.
- Leads and manages institutional grant development efforts within areas of responsibility. Serves as (or directly supervises) the occupational contact person and coordinator for Perkins Grant program.
- Recommends college policies and procedures affecting areas of responsibility. Assists with development of college policy and procedures in other areas.
- Coordinates with the Vice President of Administrative Services and Finance in college-wide staff development activities.
- Promotes strategic alliances and partnerships between the college and other entities from both the private and public sectors. Approves articulation agreements with other educational institutions, both K-12 and post-secondary.
- Coordinates program reviews and program advisory committee meetings.
- Represents the college at meetings of Michigan Occupational Deans Administrative Council and other professional organizations.
- Serves on the Curriculum Committee and provides coordination assistance to the committee chairperson.
- Provides leadership for recruitment and selection of full-time faculty by developing position descriptions, coordinating advertisement of positions, and chairing the search committee.
- Evaluates full-time faculty in accordance with contractual procedures.
- Coordinates the advertisement for adjunct faculty, reviews adjunct faculty qualifications, conducts initial interview and instructional orientation, coordinates selection of faculty mentor, and monitors the evaluation process.
- Participates in the course registration process by resolving schedule conflicts and adding or canceling courses. Approves student enrollment beyond established class sizes, course substitutions for degrees; directed study, independent study, and internship arrangements.
- Reviews and certifies faculty loads for payroll purposes to include calculating course loads for classes less than the minimum enrollment, determining faculty course overloads, course preparation compensation, and determining extra assignment compensation for laboratory maintenance responsibilities.
- Facilitates contributions of department chairs to instructional operations.
- Participates in Title IX duties as assigned; including decision making responsibilities.
- Participates in the Academic Standards Committee.
- Chairs the Madeline Briggs University Center Coordinating Committee. Assists in seeking and securing MBUC partners to expand and enhance educational opportunities for service area residents.
- Exhibits leadership and teamwork as a senior administrator and member of the Executive Council.
- Other duties as assigned by the College President.
