Purple Wave is recruiting for a motivated self-starter as a Video Editor, working with a team of highly motivated professionals in the Marketing Team. This is a remote position in Purple Wave but requires the candidate to live in one of the following states: KS, MO, NE, OK. Compensation and benefits include a salary paid bi-weekly and monthly bonus plan, a 401(k) retirement plan, health, dental, vision, and life insurance, vacation and holiday pay.

Purple Wave is looking for a highly motivated and talented individual to create social-first video content. They will be a solo creator and editor to deliver assets ranging from Instagram reels, TikTok videos, YouTube Shorts, website video, internal training videos, etc. They must love social media and understand how our audience consumes content.

Responsibilities:

• Creativity – video editors are excellent storytellers who thoroughly understand a video’s creative concept/vision and work with raw footage and audio to create a product that fulfills this vision.
• Eye for appealing visuals – our ideal candidate has the ability to recognize what is visually appealing, when editing clips & while adding graphics. They need to have experience with motion graphics editors and understand basic principles of design.
• Precision – Video editing is an extremely delicate task that demands a precise sense of timing and attention to detail if scenes are to flow fluidly and elicit the right emotion from viewers.
• Collaboration – a video editor collaborates heavily with several members of the team, including sales members, social media managers, customers, etc, so good communication skills, professional demeanor, and openness to constructive criticism are essential.
• Time management – Time management is essential as even short form videos can be intricate. They must be able to concentrate for long periods of time, meet deadlines, and be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Qualifications:

• Manage and oversee all technical aspects of video editing & post-production work.
• Knowledge of video production process: directing, shooting, interviewing, editing, encoding, uploading and managing media, video editing and video compression for multiple distribution platforms.
• Must understand social media channels and how to take one piece of content and adapt it to each channel – in length, target audience, and more
• Ensure each video is consistent with organizational brand guidelines and overall presence
• Participate in the brainstorming process for content creation and production.
• Responsible for evaluating stories; organizing them into a cohesive sequence best suited for specific social media outlets

Additional consideration will be given to candidates that have:

• Experience with Canva
• Experience with DSLR cameras and professional audio equipment
• Experience capturing on-location footage, handling lighting equipment, and conducting professional interviews

NOTE: The ideal candidate can work in a remote setting; however, this candidate has to be based in one of these states KS, MO, NE, OK
