POSITION TITLE: Warehouse Attendant
REPORTS TO: Materials/Warehouse Supervisor
SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, performs a variety of warehouse duties that may include pulling/checking customer orders, replenishment, shipping and material handling. Will use automated warehouse management system. Will be responsible for receiving incoming orders into the system. Will be responsible to insure incoming counts are accurate. May operate hand and power equipment for material handling to accommodate storage of product throughout warehouse. Performs secondary operations such as cutting and chamfering.
SPECIFIC JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Must demonstrate to management the willingness to perform. Which would include, but not be limited to a responsible attitude, a good attendance record, working in a safe manner as per BCAR employee safety policy, have a proactive attitude, be responsible to problems and supervisors/managers instructions and otherwise handling their assignments in an exemplary manner.
- Demonstrate initiative and independent judgement for managing work, assisting team members, addressing unforeseen problems and improving departments performance.
- Act with integrity.
- Share information and collaborate for process improvement throughout the shop.
- Receives material as delivered by various carriers ensuring that paperwork is correct.
- Process / Receive incoming orders into companies database and advise of discrepancies real time.
- Picks material from stock or floor locations according to job prioritizations.
- Delivers material to Operating Cells following prescribed practice or instruction.
- Performs inventories using scales or manual methods.
- Counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments and verifies/records against packing slips
- Packages shipments using care with appropriate containers, protective inserts/padding, etc.
- Loads and unloads material and goods from incoming trucks using material handling equipment.
- Moves, stores and spaces materials as directed.
- Inspects/maintains warehouse equipment and supplies.
- Assembles wooden or cardboard containers.
- Cuts material on vertical band saw.
- Chamfers material on grinder or belt sander.
- Uses hand truck to transport materials.
- Receives training on use of power truck and other powered material handling equipment.
- Basic data entry and computer experience.
- Knowledge of basic fractions and decimal conversions.
- Ability to measure length using carpenters rule and other measuring devices.
- Accurately count pieces of material.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area. Performs all work safely and efficiently.
- Other tasks as assigned by Warehouse Coordinator or supervisor
- Performs all other job duties as required.
- Must be able to perform tasks with a full range of motion from kneeling, crouched, stooped, bent at the waist, upright and arms fully extended overhead. Must be able to lift, push, pull, up to 75 pounds. Visual acuity and accommodation are required for reading orders, machine dial gauges and precision measuring instruments. Hearing ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes in order to take appropriate action.
