American Producers Supply is an independent distributor of industrial, construction and oil field supplies to businesses throughout much of Ohio, West Virginia, Kentucky, and into Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Indiana.

We have 13 locations to serve our customers. Corporate headquarters and the main distribution center are in downtown Marietta, Ohio. Branches are in Columbus, Sunbury, Cincinnati, Portsmouth, and Lancaster Ohio; Huntington and St. Albans, West Virginia; Pittsburgh, PA; Louisville and Glasgow Kentucky; Ferdinand, Indiana; and Wixom, MI.

We are hiring a talented warehouse professional to join our team as a Shipping Lead and Fleet and Safety Coordinator Assistant. The position responsibilities include assisting in the accuracy and flow of outbound orders, and supporting the Fleet and Training Departments with Safety and Driver training as needed.

To be successful in this role, you should be able to inspect orders with great attention to detail and be in good physical condition to lift and move heavy items. Ultimately, a top candidate should be able to ensure efficient shipping processes and promptly resolve any problems or discrepancies.

Responsibilities for Shipping Lead and Safety Coordinator

• Picking and preparation of orders for outbound shipping
• Oversee fleet and safety training records
• Perform inspections on fleet and warehouse equipment
• Following company procedures to ensure all records are accurate and updated in a timely manner and conforms to company practices
• Following company safety policies and procedures and encouraging others to do the same
• Inspect shipments for damage and correct quantities
• Assist with company fleet maintenance coordinating and Driver training as needed
• Assist with various safety training activities and/or support
• Good housekeeping-keep work area clean orderly
• Capable of driving fleet vehicles as necessary
• Performing other duties as assigned

Qualifications for Warehouse Receiving

• Good driving record required
• Must be able to pass a background check, drug screen, and MVR check
• Previous warehouse experience
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Must be able to read and understand English
• Must make safety a priority
• Positive attitude and self-motivation
• Basic math and organization skills
• Ability to bend and lift 60 pounds or more
• Detail-oriented mindset
• Data entry and computer skills
• Computer skills and knowledge of data entry and inventory software programs
• Forklift experience strongly preferred
• Ability to work on feet for long hours
• Ability to work 7:30am - 4:30pm
