The Maryland Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Administration (MDOT MVA) is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor. This is a supervisory position in a warehouse environment, supervising the daily activities of a Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) Central Warehouse. The employee is responsible for the receipt, storage and distribution of supplies and materials ordered for the Central Warehouse for future use by MDOT. The employee will plan and schedule the receipt and distribution of supplies while ensuring safe and efficient storage methods. General direction is received from the Warehouse Operations Manager and Assistant Managers. Work effectiveness is determined by observation of appearances and condition of the warehouse area and by the effective flow of supplies and materials to and from the warehouse. The employee operates independently or within a team in determining work methods, schedules, and procedures. Supervision may be exercised over several warehouse associates and delivery personnel.
Additional duties include but are not limited to: supervising maintenance of records; receiving and issuing supplies, materials and inventory control; receiving and processing supply requisitions; supervising the distribution of supplies; scheduling times for efficient receipt and distribution of supplies; providing for the maintenance of necessary equipment such as hand and power trucks, delivery vehicles, and storage pallets; driving a 26-foot box truck while completing deliveries; operating a forklift; documenting new and obsolete equipment, and performing other necessary duties as required.
The current vacancy is located at the Maryland Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Administration (MDOT MVA) in Glen Burnie, Maryland (Anne Arundel County). The eligible list resulting from this recruitment may be used to fill similar Warehouse Supervisor vacancies throughout MDOT.
The Warehouse Supervisor at MDOT MVA will be responsible for all aspects of material handling, such as receiving and storing materials, and distribution of all necessary business forms, equipment, vehicle plates, driver’s and vehicle materials, stickers, and titles, along with other specialty items used by MVA branches, automobile dealerships, law enforcement agencies, county treasurers, and tag & title companies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Graduation from a standard high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Five (5) years of supervisory experience in a warehouse involving the receipt and issue of a large volume of supplies, material and equipment, two (2) years of which must have been at the Assistant Supervisor level or equivalent.
Preferred Qualification:
- Experience with computers and Microsoft Programs, especially Excel
