The Shippers Group is currently seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to join Operations Team in Austell, Georgia.

The Warehouse Supervisor will utilize warehouse expertise and managerial skills in a third party logistics environment. Lead, develop and motivate a talented warehouse team. The Warehouse Supervisor working with the General Manager will use their leadership abilities to motivate and energize teams. By collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, you will balance team demands and drive exceptional team performance with high performance for the businesses you support.

SHIFT:

Tues - Fri - 12 pm- 9pm

Sat - 6am - 6:30pm

Training will be 2 weeks on day shift, 2 weeks on evening shift.

Major Tasks, Accountabilities and Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
  • Understanding of work objectives in a Food Grade facility
  • Achieves operational objectives by contributing warehouse operations information and recommendations to strategic plans
  • Reviews and prepares any action plans while ensuring productivity, quality and customer service standards are met
  • Builds people capability through effective employee relations, hiring, training, and communication for front-line hourly and salaried personnel
  • Develops team to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short- and long-term performance goals
  • Communicates and collaborates cross-functionally to assist team to solve operational issues
  • Motivates the team members to achieve plan goals
  • Develops warehouse operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements.
  • Conduct staff meetings to discuss general information as well as various safety topics
  • Drive "safety first" culture
  • Troubleshoots all receiving and shipping complaints to find the cause, help resolve the issue, and prevent reoccurrence.
  • Administer policies and procedures
  • This role requires regular presence on the warehouse floor
  • This role requires lifting up to 40 lbs. occasionally
  • This role requires occasional work in poor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, or snow.
  • This role may operate forklift and manufacturing equipment occasionally
  • This role may require off-shift work
  • This role may require some travel (less than 5%)

Qualifications:

  • 3PL experience preferred
  • A minimum of 3 years of operations/logistics or supply chain experience preferred
  • A minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management systems
  • Forklift certification a plus
  • Experience with continuous improvement (i.e. Lean Six Sigma certification, TPM, lean manufacturing, etc)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word
  • Proficient with WMS
  • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback
  • Ability to lead a team-based approach to decision making
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a results-oriented, challenging environment
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to get results through mentoring others
  • Effective coaching, facilitation, presentation, and team building skills
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
