Job description

The City of Royalton has an opening for a full-time Water and Wastewater Operator position to perform a variety of un-skilled and semi-skilled technical work, maintenance and operations duties to the water and wastewater systems. This position will also perform routine to skilled maintenance work with city streets, alleys, vehicles, equipment, buildings and grounds and other duties as assigned. The position is roughly 90% water and wastewater operations and 10% street and building maintenance.

Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent, valid Class B CDL or the ability to obtain one in the first 6 months. Must have general knowledge of hydraulic, chemical, and mechanical principles pertinent to water treatment plant operations, general knowledge of water and wastewater operating characteristics and maintenance of water and wastewater systems, hold a Class C Water and Class C Wastewater license and must demonstrate a working ability to use computer programs for process control. Position requires responding to emergencies after hours and rotating on-call duty evenings, weekends, and holidays. Starting wage from $23.92 to $29.11 depending on experience with benefits.
