We are looking for a Web Designer to help create and maintain attractive websites for internal and external communications. Working closely with our digital marketing team, primary duties will include assuring website functionality and stability by updating and maintaining content and plugins, as well as conceptualizing and implementing creative ideas for internal and external websites.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Updating websites with content and graphics;
  • Updating content management systems, including WordPress and Joomla! to new versions and assuring compatibility with plugins;
  • Testing, assuring quality, and improving the design and functionality of websites;
  • Maintaining design guidelines, standards, and best practices;
  • Creating visual imagery for websites and ensuring they are in line with brand rules;
  • Conceptualizing creative ideas with internal teams;
  • Preparing design plans and presenting website information structure; and
  • Incorporating new functionality and features into websites.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college with a major in graphic design, digital media design, marketing, or other relevant field and at least two years of related progressive web design experience; or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides required knowledge, skills, and abilities.   • Familiarity with website content management. (required)
  • Ability to manage website content and software to enhance the Geosyntec brand. (required)
  • Ability to create effective presentations and respond to inquiries from internal and external clients; and effectively present information and respond to questions from colleagues, managers, and clients. (required)
  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner including critical and analytical thinking about the purpose of the document and how the content may be improved. (required)
  • Ability to update content and software with a strong attention to detail. (required)
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, and typing ability. (required)
  • Ability to understand and follow complex oral and written instructions. (required)
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage workflow. (required)
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently to perform effectively under tight deadlines. (required)
