Position Title: Weddings & Events Manager, Cape Leisure Silver Springs, LLC, Silver Springs State Park

Reports To: General Manager, Cape Leisure Silver Springs, LLC

Overview: Cape Leisure provides visitor services at Silver Springs State Park under a concession agreement with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. These services include the world-famous Glass Bottom Boat Tours, Paddling Adventures canoe and kayak rentals on the Silver River, retail, food & beverage including catering, and special events management. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of Cape Leisure Silver Springs special events programming, including weddings, festivals, small concerts, and seasonal events. This candidate will also work on group tickets sales- tour groups, field trips, and more, with a goal of increasing visitation and usage of the park's offerings. The successful applicant will work closely with the Catering Manager, the catering & events staff, and the state park staff to make all events successful.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Working closely with Cape Leisure’s General Manager at Silver Springs, as well as the Catering Manager to successfully hold events.
• Direct the development, planning and implementation and promotion of a heavy schedule of park-wide special events.
• Responsible for event contracting, providing vendor contracting and oversight, event staffing and catering oversight in coordination with the Catering Manager.
• Directs group sales coordinator to solicit, plan and implement group visits in the youth, corporate, church, association/fraternal, tour & travel and other markets.
• Seeks out and receives Florida Department of Environmental Protection approval for all marketing elements and events prior to public dissemination.
• Adheres to and enforces all Cape Leisure policies and procedures, including but not limited to those related to food quality and safety, employee and guest safety, environmental and financial controls.
• Ensure that company assets, including equipment, money and inventories, are properly protected.
• Act as a Manager on Duty, directing all Cape Leisure Silver Springs operations during that time.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications/Skills/Educational Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field strongly preferred.
• Minimum of three years’ marketing and special event experience in attractions/hospitality industry.
• Demonstrate an ability to implement a successful marketing program and coordinate special events.
• Experience planning and executing wedding ceremonies and receptions.
• Excellent writing skills required.
• Basic budget management and accounting skills.
• Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with general office computer software such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to move, stand, stoop and bend for an entire 8 hour shift. Tasks require consistent use of both arms and legs.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and carry for short distances.
• Must be willing to tolerate working outdoors year around and in warm interior environments.
• Must have the ability to work an erratic an varied schedule including; nights, most weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to visually inspect condition of facilities and equipment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
