NOW HIRING Fulltime Weekend Scheduler

Salary: From $17.50 per hour

VISION:
The Scheduler Next Day contributes to the profitable growth of ComTrans by scheduling all drivers and maintaining a partnership and relationship with internal departments while delivering superior customer service.
BASIC FUNCTION:
The Scheduler Next Day manages all aspects of routing/scheduling for the transportation of our customers. This position supports all Departments within ComTrans and in support of the ComTrans mission and goals. This position utilizes business knowledge, independent and creative thinking. ComTrans is a safety sensitive company

EMPLOYEE STATUS: Regular: Full-time; hourly / non-exempt position.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities/The Driver Scheduler must be able to:REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High School Graduate or equivalent preferred but not required, Degree a plus
Age: All ComTrans employees must be at least 18 years old, all driving positions are required to be at least 21 years old as required by insurance. Exceptions may be made for non-driving positions on a case-by-case basis and dependent upon the position and its responsibilities.
Licensing/Registration/Certification:
 Valid AZ driver's license.
 Approved by our insurance company as a driver.
Company Provided Training/Certifications
 Have or be able to obtain a level one fingerprint clearance card
 First Aid/CPR
 Crisis Prevention and Intervention.
 Complete ComTrans Driver Certification Training Program.
Additional Certifications: (Some positions at ComTrans require additional certifications when operating vehicles with a design capacity for 8 or more passengers.)
 Must be certified through Comtrans to drive 15-passenger and wheel chair vans.
 Able to pass a Department of Transportation physical exam initially and upon expiration.
 Complete ComTrans certification program to operate a vehicle with a design of 8 or more passengers.
 Certified as a wheelchair driver
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities/The Driver Scheduler must be able to:
 Communicate effectively both verbally and written in English.
 Be thoroughly knowledgeable of our all Department transportation requirements (viewed as an expert) including routing, scheduling, mapping, constraints, and data entry.
 Maintain an organized and efficient work environment.
 Multi-task, balance workload, and demonstrate good organization skills.
 Work independently with little supervision.
 Be a strong team player.
 Understand customer service internally and externally.
 Utilize information systems and the Microsoft Office suite of Programs.
 Use sound judgment in making decisions and solving problems.
 Exceptional knowledge of all ComTrans service areas (streets, addresses, etc)
 Utilize time management skills - prioritizing and planning.
Physical Requirements/Administrative requirements:
 Ability to perform sedentary work involving sitting most of the time and for long periods of time.
 Able to perform fingering activities such as typing.
 Perform repetitive activities such as typing, using a telephone
 Must have adequate visual acuity as required to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data, viewing a computer terminal, expansive reading.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
The Next Day Scheduler reports directly to the Dispatch Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to, the following:
 Construct and maintain routes.
 Efficient pre-scheduling of routes.
 Establishes and adjusts TOS/TAD on routes, making arrival and departure schedules efficient as necessary;
 Work with Program Managers for scheduling needs when necessary.
 Evaluate new transportation requests from programs and make decisions in a timely manner.
 Communicate vehicle needs to resource team.
MEASUREMENTS OF PERFORMANCE:
The Next Day Manager will evaluate the performance contribution of the Scheduler using the following criteria:
 The efficiency of routes.
 High level of customer service.
 Responsiveness to deadlines.
 Timeliness, accuracy & completion of schedules.
 The efficient use of consolidating & expanding routes.
 Maintain compliance with safety standards.
 Attendance and Reliability
