Become a Wildfire & Public Safety Senior Advisor at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you will be a part of the Wildfire and Public Safety group within Regulatory Affairs and participate in some of the most important work performed by SCE. This team leads regulatory activities related to SCE’s Wildfire Mitigation Plan (WMP), the General Rate Case (GRC), and other public safety and wildfire-related efforts. These are key components of SCE’s efforts to reduce wildfire risk, help shape state policies, and to obtain funding for wildfire mitigation efforts.
The successful candidate will lead teams comprised of experts to develop strategies, narratives, and other work products across multiple subjects/proceedings (typical examples could include wildfire mitigation activities such as system hardening, situational awareness, community engagement, etc.). This requires engagement with colleagues and leadership from across the company. Successful execution of these activities is a foundational element of SCE’s overall wildfire mitigation efforts.

Partner with colleagues and leadership from across the company to translate business objectives, near and long-term strategies, and technical information into persuasive and compelling work-product to be presented before external audiences, such as California regulatory bodies.
Lead the development and ensure alignment of SCE policy positions, testimony, comments, and all other content for regulatory proceedings such as SCE’s WMP and GRC, and other related activities.
Developing SCE’s responses to data requests, lead preparation for hearings, workshops, and other external facing collaboration.
Lead cross-functional teams from across multiple operating units to accomplish regulatory objectives.
Clearly articulate new requirements as defined by SCE’s regulatory entities and collaborate across the organization to ensure alignment on approach to satisfy them.
Lead and participate in complex strategy discussions with organizational unit and SCE leadership and think creatively on courses of action related to regulatory issues.
The essentials
Ten or more years of combined experience in the fields of business, public policy, communications, regulatory affairs & compliance, risk management, utility cost recovery proceedings, utility customer program management, and/or utility asset management.
Experience interfacing and collaborating with business partners, cross-functional project teams, peers, all levels of management, and/or vendors.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong project or program management skills and ability to effectively lead multiple priorities.
The preferred
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in business, engineering, public policy, or related field.
Experience in utility regulation and California energy policy, including developing regulatory filings for submission before the various California utility regulatory bodies.
Knowledge of SCE’s WMP and GRC filings.
Experience developing business narratives and supporting data.
You should know
This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.

Primary work location is Westminster, CA, however other locations such as Rosemead or Pomona may be considered.
