Associate Director, Hospitality & Business Development

Pay Range: $70,928 annually or higher depending on education and experience

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Business Development, Marketing, & Communications, the Associate Director of Hospitality and Business Development will work to improve and increase revenue opportunities for auxiliary services' hospitality units. This position will oversee the conference services team as well as the implementation of new business opportunities within Auxiliary Services.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in a related area. Four additional years,11 years total, project management experience will substitute for degree requirement.
Seven years of hospitality and conference management including:
  • Experience in planning, scheduling, coordinating, supervising, and evaluating others.
  • Budgeting and accounting procedures; facility operations, techniques and procedures used in programming events; knowledge of laws concerning management of public events, facilities, safety measures, and alcohol procedures.
  • Experience with event planning and registration software.
  • Communicate effectively and maintain effective professional relationships with clients and business partners.
  • Working simultaneously on several projects with specific deadlines.



Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5 years of higher education experience, preferably at a land grant institution.
  • Knowledge of strategic planning and capital planning.
  • Ability to recognize and analyze potential problems and resolve conflicts.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Highly motivated, self-disciplined individual with dedication to creating and promoting a team environment.
