Position Summary
The College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (CVMBS) at Colorado State University (CSU) is seeking an Associate Director of Equine Clinical Services. This position will be responsible for operations within the Johnson Family Equine Hospital (JFEH) and the Equine Reproduction Laboratory (ERL). The JFEH is a newly built, state of the art regional primary and global tertiary care referral center for equine veterinary services. The ERL utilizes leading-edge reproduction techniques and has served the equine industry for more than 45 years. The JFEH and ERL are major pillars of our CSU Veterinary Health System (VHS) which includes our medical, clinical, diagnostic, continuing education, and other health service operations within CVMBS. The JFEH is located on the CSU South Campus, adjacent to the James L. Voss Veterinary Teaching Hospital (VTH), Diagnostic Medical Center and Translational Medicine Institute, which comprise the Veterinary Health Complex (VHC). The ERL is located on the CSU Foothills Campus. This juxtaposition of educational, research and service facilities provide a unique opportunity to advance veterinary and allied professions. Additional growth plans from the VHS Executive Leadership Team include a primary care facility and educational complex, which are in early development. Other components of the master plan include evolution of the current small animal VTH into a tertiary care clinic and the development of indoor and outdoor spaces that support a greater sense of community and wellbeing. The Associate Director of Equine Clinical Services is expected to play a significant role during this exciting next phase of growth, with the opportunity to significantly impact our future direction and will be critical in maintaining the premier reputation of Colorado State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences as a top-tier institution.
