Slayton Law is a consumer bankruptcy firm[FS1] rated AV-Preeminent by Martindale Hubbell. We represent everyday people struggling financially - usually due to job loss, illness or divorce.

Strong candidates will:

· Be admitted to practice law in Virginia.

· Be great with people.

· Be detail orientated.

· Be able to follow well-established procedures.

· Be very good with technology and communication tools.

· Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Be able to organize and manage priorities and meet deadlines.

· Be compassionate and non-judgmental of people in financial crisis.

· Have experience in bankruptcy (but we will train the right candidate).

· Live in the Charlottesville area or a surrounding county.

· Be willing to travel to all of our offices and the bankruptcy courts in which we practice.

Your job duties will include:

· Handling initial appointments with clients.

· Preparing and filing Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 cases.

· Meeting with clients to explain and sign documents.

· Drafting pleadings.

· Handling creditors meetings and confirmation hearings.

· Providing[FS2] great communication to clients.

· Working 8-5, and beyond as necessary.

· Managing cases until discharge.

· Answering clients’ questions.

· Working as a team with staff and other attorneys.

Slayton Law has offices in Charlottesville (our base) and Culpeper, and we are planning to add a third office soon.

Compensation: base ($40,000-$60,000, commensurate with experience) + bonus pay based on productivity. CLE, health, dental, and vision are offered.
