Job description
Under general supervision, to provide a range of nursing functions, including the provision of basic health care and disease prevention / restorative measures in clinical and field settings; and to perform related duties as assigned.
The Community Health Nurse is a full journey registered nursing classification. Under general supervision, the position incumbent performs direct and indirect patient care services that assist the individual in coping with difficulties in daily living that are associated with actual or potential health or illness problems or the treatment thereof. The incumbent of this position is required to possess a substantial amount of scientific knowledge and technical skill.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Graduation from an accredited college with an Associate’s degree in nursing.
Experience:
Three years of professional nursing experience in an acute care hospital, at least one year of which included medical, surgical or emergency room nursing, and/or an ambulatory primary care clinic.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS 100% FTE in a five step salary system with advancement upon satisfactory completion of a six-month probationary period and annual increases thereafter. Salary Range 48B (($29.84-$36.28) per hour
o Health Insurance: County provides medical, dental and vision coverage for employee with co-payment by employee dependent on family status.
o Vacation: Accrued at the rate of 6.67 hours per month, or 10 vacation days per year.
o Sick Leave: Earned at the rate of 8 hours per month.
o Holidays: 15 paid holidays per year.
o Retirement: Participation in the California Public Employee Retirement System (PERS), 2% at 62 plan New Members
o Deferred Compensation: the County has a voluntary deferred compensation program.
o Alpine County is a drug, alcohol and smoke-free workplace.
