Job description
The Business Analyst is responsible for understanding and creating all the data that is used in Stukent’s simulations. Simulation topics include marketing, accounting, intro to business, finance, communications, and dozens of other related subjects. Each simulation requires the creation of real-world data that will help guide the students in the decisions they make. Additionally, after each round, the student will receive grades, scores, and metrics that help them understand how well they are doing in the simulation. These metrics will also give the students the opportunity to perform their own analysis of the data and optimize decisions in future rounds. A successful candidate will be able to understand various business-related KPIs and have confidence in creating algorithms that transform student inputs into real-world outputs. Additionally, the Business Analyst will assist the Product Owners in simulation creation and configuration work.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Create Simulation Scoring Algorithms - Every round of every simulation receives inputs from the students. Those inputs will drive a variety of simulated outputs. The scoring is the algorithm that turns inputs into outputs.
- Generate simulation data sets - Most simulation decisions require the students to perform analysis on a variety of data sets. This position will create the data sets that students will analyze throughout each round.
- Scoring implementation - Need to be a quick learner who can implement the scoring algorithms into the software. Light JSON file configuration capabilities will be taught and used
- Cross-functional collaboration - Work with content, development, subject matter experts, and product owners to understand how the simulation data impacts all aspects of the simulation.
- Meet with SME/Focus Groups/Business Stakeholders - To ensure the scoring algorithms output real-to-life metrics.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
- Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
- Self-starter with a strong work ethic.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of financial and mathematical modeling techniques.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools.
- Experience in C#, Python, and JSON programming languages (not-required)
This position is located in Idaho Falls, Idaho, no relocation assistance is offered for this role, and cannot be remote.
