Sion Power is looking for a highly motivated Cell Process Engineering Manager to develop cell manufacturing processes for our next-generation cell technology. You will lead a process engineering team to work closely with internal equipment & operation teams and external equipment vendors to develop the pilot production line for Lithium Metal cell build. You will also be responsible for maintaining the current prototype line to ensure high-quality product delivery.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead process team developing and optimizing the cell manufacturing process for the next generation cell technology
• Lead prototype and pilot builds through the development of the processes, tooling, and equipment.
• Design, construction, plant installation, successful launch, and continuous improvement of process and equipment required in pilot plants for the production of high-quality cell product
• Work with the product design team to integrate new cell design into the production by adjusting or updating equipment and tooling.
• Technically support pilot line troubleshooting and problem-solving
• Conduct PFMEA and Fault Tree analysis to drive robustness of processes.
• Provide technical direction and support to the project team and outside vendor sources
• Develop control plan, SOP, and other process documentation and provide training
• Review and report battery quality indicators (e.g., electrode coating, cell assembly, formation, finish, etc.) and evaluate potential improvements and corrective actions to address the issue

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Proven experience in managing a team to set up equipment and process for pilot or production scale cell manufacturing
• 10 years of battery experience in cell manufacturing, preferable Lithium or Lithium-ion systems
• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field. Commensurate relevant work experience will be considered.
• Successful candidates will have meticulous attention to detail, possess outstanding problem-solving skills, and have direct, hands-on machine experience
• Strong written, verbal, presentation and organizational skills as well as the ability to work and manage time independently
