Everwood Hospitality Partners and The Troubadour Hotel New Orleans is looking for a Chief Engineer to lead the Maintenance Department.
The Chief Engineer will manage a staff responsible for maintaining the interior and exterior of the asset, guest rooms and contents, meeting space, laundry and kitchen/refrigeration equipment, lighting, heating, air conditioning (HVAC), ventilation, and water treatment system, swimming pool/spa, and electrical/mechanical systems for life safety, boilers, and contract services.
As the Chief Engineer you will be in charge of monitoring the budget and controlling expenses of the department, and Capital planning. This is a leadership position with growth potential as we grow our company.
Additional Responsibilities include:
- Manage the daily activities of the department. Quore experience a plus.
- Plan and organize work, communicate goals, and schedule employees to ensure proper coverage for productivity.
- Communicate and enforce policies and procedures. Lead by example.
- Ensure all staff is properly trained and have the tools and equipment needed to effectively carry out their job duties.
- Drive the Preventative Maintenance Program and ensure quality.
- Establish and maintain procedures to:
> ensure the security of inventory and assets such as tools, supplies, equipment, furniture, televisions, etc.,
> order supplies and inventory in a timely and efficient manner,
> minimize waste / maximize productivity.
- Work with Everwood leadership on completion of construction and other future projects; contact vendors for bids for projects
- Responsible for the security requirements necessary to ensure that hotel property, employees, and guest are protected against theft, crime, and other hazards, make recommendations to improve.
- Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication with team and coordination with other departments.
- Drive Risk Management Programs.
- Respond in a courteous manner to all guest questions, complaints, and or requests to ensure strong guest satisfaction.
Requirements:
- Experience in Electrical/Mechanical and/or Building Management preferred. Project management also a plus.
- 2-3 years of experience as Chief Engineer and/or Assistant Chief Engineer in hospitality.
- Ability to obtain/maintain any required licenses, certificates or permits.
- Experience with hotel maintenance.
- Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel which may include overtime, weekends and holidays.
