The Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis Inc. is currently seeking a Child Care Partner Specialist. Under general supervision, the Child Care Partner Specialist is responsible for providing oversight for child care partners for the Head Start/Early Head Start program, which includes serving as liaison between the child care partners and administration of the Head Start program. The Child Care Partner Specialist ensures that child care partners meet all Head Start Performance Standards and other regulations in addition to the provisions of the Head Start Act. Also, this position will assist with recruitment and enrollment of children eligible for Head Start services, and supports the larger system of services provided by Head Start, thereby supporting the goals of the program.

Candidates must have:

  • A combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in social work, early childhood education, or related human service field.
  • Considerable knowledge of early childhood education principles, health and safety, state and federal regulations pertaining to child abuse and neglect and child care licensing.
  • One year of experience working with disadvantaged and low-income families.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, children, parents, outside agencies, and the public.
  • Ability to keep all information strictly confidential.
  • Must be willing to obtain the Red Cross First Aid Certification and CPR coursework and updates as required.
  • Possess valid driver's license
  • Per program policies a health exam, clear tuberculosis screen, Hepatitis A vaccination and background check are required for hire.
