Job description
The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is seeking a detail-oriented individual to perform complex clerical work regarding inmate records. If you are organized and have great customer service, this may be the opportunity for you.
- Sorts, posts, replaces, and copies large volumes of documents and information in offender files in a timely and accurate manner
- Prepares offender locations and status documents for use by supervisors and managers in preparation of reports
- Processes incoming and outgoing mail, date stamps, and sorts mail to appropriate locations
- Keeps logs of all incoming and outgoing faxes
- Creates and organizes files of all offenders going to various prisons throughout Arizona
- Operates automated data storage, retrieval equipment, computer, copy machine, and faxes
- Researches files to provide routine information to authorize agency staff and all law enforcement representatives
- Provides responses to phone inquiries by utilizing the Arizona Correctional Information System (ACIS) for correct responses
- Gathers and prepares routine information from case records and other sources for transmittal to Central Office Records (COR)
- Creates spreadsheets on all offender arrivals and movement
- Attends staff meetings and all mandatory training under the direction of the supervisor
- Drives on State business
- Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment

- Sorting, posting, and filing offender documents and information in offender institutional files
- Automated/manual storage and retrieval techniques and equipment
- Numerical and digital filing systems
- Proper grammar and spelling
- Personal computer using various software programs, including Microsoft Office and Google Suite

- Learn through repetition, practice, and on the job
High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED)
Requires possession of, and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver’s license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12).
Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation and drug test.
