West Michigan Academy of Arts and Academics is hiring a part time evening Custodian. 25 hours weekly.

West Michigan Academy of Arts & Academics, a K-8 charter school located in Spring Lake was established in 1996. WMAAA’s mission is to empower our students to reach their ultimate personal success through the unique integration of arts and academics.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

• Takes instruction from the Facilities and Custodial Technician verbally and in writing.
• Clean, vacuum, mop, remove trash, and conduct all required building sanitation protocols.
• Keep the building and grounds clean, safe, functional and secure in accordance with academy policies and standards.
• Maintain an inventory of cleaning and maintenance supplies and materials.
• Restocks disposable items and provides Facilities and Custodial Tech with inventory usage and data.
• Must be able to reach with hands and arms, grasp with hands, squat, stoop or kneel, reach above the head and reach forward and bend or twist at the neck and trunk more than the average person; lift up to 50 pounds, for items such as cleaning supplies, packing and unloading trucks, salt, furniture, scrubbing machines, etc.
• Maintain building and grounds security opening and/or closing the building.

• Evidence of positive attitude, high level of flexibility, and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple tasks.
• Evidence of high standards of ethics, honesty, and integrity in personal and professional matters.
• Maintain regular attendance, report to work neat and clean, and complete tasks in a timely manner.

Qualifications: Hold high school diploma or equivalent. Prior custodial experience desired. Must be able to pass criminal justice fingerprint/background check.

Compensation: $10 - $12 per hour, 25 hours per week, pay to be commensurate with qualifications and experience
